For the first time in approximately 3 1/2 years, I made a live daytrade yesterday.  It was not in my Interactive Brokers trading account but rather in Mrs. BlueCollar's IRA.  I am a fan of the 3x smallcap index etf  TNA but her IRA does not allow shorting so I traded long its inverse etf, TZA.  2000 shares, I went long just after it bottomed then the market went as dead as I've seen it for about 2 1/2 hours !!!!  I couldn't believe it... I hadn't seen this as long as I remember in TNA or TZA inthis case!  I went long in this inverse etf just as the DOW hit 14,000, a major milestone.  Then it just sat there.  Finally, the markets retreated and my etf went up some, though not to the extent I was expecting.  That means the markets will likely drop on Monday, in my opinion.

I'm still alive and still practice-trading!  Here are my results from last week, though Monday's results are not listed; IB only shows the most recent six days and not seven.  I have bean faithfully practicing since taking some time off last summer.  My passion for blogging waned and died for a while but I hope to do more posting of my daily activities again.  My comfort level with chart reading is progressing and I have a better feel for direction changes than I did last Spring before taking my summer break.
Good trading to you all.

AMZN practice trade

Here's my first and only trade for today. Long in AMZN off the reversal candle at 11:45am. I have some things to take care of so I cannot stay at the computer. I'll take my 63 cents and run! The spike above my exit price came after I exited and I don't feel a bit bad about missing the extra 30 cents (it's 30 cents and not 41 cents because of the spread).

Good trading to all!
